I love that feeling when you know it's all running nicely and things are taking the right amount of time, and it shuts down properly and it's just lush.

It just makes it all the more annoying when it does fuck up - and eventually, it will so enjoy it while you can and back-the-fuc-up!!

Not sure how long til the next rabdom problem - I make it about 27 days, 18 hours and 13 minutes at the moment. 

Thing is we had mirrored hard drives so everything was meant to basically duplicate itself on this other hard drive...But some how at some point the mirror degraded and when it got fixed the computer had started booting off the wrong drive...Booting off the drive that had previously been mirroring...Which explained why sometimes I would download a file to a folder and it wouldn't be there - Because the computer thought it was mean to be downloading to drive E when in fact it was downloading to drive C so couldn't see anything - It's all so stupidly complicated, why the fuck does that sort of thing happen...Anyway - Problems aside, fucked off the mirror and just formatted the drive that was acting as a mirror as NTFS drive - So now got like double the space

I've got 2 80 gig internal and a 160 gig external. One 80 gigger houses all my nuts and bolts and the other houses all my data. Te external is purely for backup purposes. Seems to do the trick. You just got to remember to backup regularly. A lot of backup software (for example Nero) has a scheduler on it so you can set it to do and incremental backup (just records what's new) like once every day or summat (obviously you've got to remember to have eveything turned on at that particular time tho). I had a lapse with backing up and it bit me in the ass cos my data drive went down at the beginning of December. My last backup before that was done in October so I lost everything I'd done inbetween (including the reason file for The Power and some other stuff I'd been working on). Still, it would have been a lot worse if I had to start from scratch, so 'm very pleased about my backup arrangement.

Yeah fair play - That's why this mirror seemed a good idea at first...'Cos everything would be getting backed up without us having to do anything - But it seemed to cause the problem so it's back to manual for me

My Pc's Hdd is a 40GB IDE and its clunkin so its gonna die soon.
Laptops is a 160gig Sata2...Had the laptop for 6 days and the 80gb it came with died...

I HATE COMPUTERS...they never work when you most need them.
