Cream Live 2 – James Lavelle Mix

I’ve been doin a bit of reclaiming of lost music recently and among other things, I managed to get this.

It is in my opinion one of the best mixes ever and it’s just a shame that the Psychonauts actually did most of it but James “Ego” Lavelle got most of the credit (The Psychonauts have a mention in the inlay card but that’s about it). It’s straight up, sinister, atmospheric hip and trip hop, rounding off nicely with a truly wicked classic jungle tune.

Not bad Harry, not bad at all…

Tacklisting

1.   Unkle – Spinners (watch out for excellent use of Streetfighter 2 samples here slayer)
2.   Autocreation – Caught Short
3.    Repeat – Drifting Sounds of Wakiki
4.   Paris – The Hate That Hate Made
5.   Most Wanted – Calm Down
6.   Doctor Octagon – Blue Flowers
7.   Photek – Into The 90’s
8.   Doctor Octagon – Bear Witness
9   Air – Modular Mix
10.   The Groove Robbers feat. Dj Shadow – Last Stop
11.   Dj Krush – Meiso
12.   Unkle – Berry Meditation
13.   Clubbed to Death – Clubbed to Death II
14.   Tuff Crew – Soul Food
15.   Innerzone Orchestra – Bug In The Bassbin
16.   Winx (aka Josh Wink) – Hypnotizin
17.   The Scientist – The Bee
18.   Paperclip People – Oscillator
19.   Peshay – Piano Tune

You can listen to it here (and you really should) .....

The other 2 cds with this (Nick Warren and Paul Oakenfold) aren’t at all bad either, just not really my cup of tea. The Nick Warren one does have the classic early breaks tune “Loose Caboose” on it though, which you can also find on my “Classics” mix lurking around somewhere on here.

 thumbs up
