just had a listen . some good tunes on there but im not keen on the pitching up it in my opinion sounds whack when you speed up hip hop, vocals start sounding chipmunk the jeruh and the pharcyde tunes most noticed this on as ive heard them all at the correct bpm . but fair play anyway will come down to hear ya play on the cuba hip hop nite maybe some cuts and scratches on the next mix .. peace 1st attempt 7 /10 come on drunken monk i wants to hear you or vapour drop a new phat hip hop mix come on do it

@ dabadan, it is the lack of tunes that can account for some of the pitching, i simply dont quite have enuff of a variety, a month is how long ive been buying hip hop. i concentrated on buying some of my favourite tunes, as soon as my payday comes personally i like the jeru track speed up a little, i hear ya on the pharcyde track m8. ill take a seven haha. watch thiz spaze

noone want to help...this world needs more hip hop! please gordy i can teach you what i know about mixing hip hop. dyou have decks at home. heres my advice listen to as many scratch perverts mixes as possible to pick up there tricks and blend methods. if you like i can burn you a few cds by them. i also say mixing is 95% the tunes 5% the mixing -beatmatching is cool but seriously heavy tunes will allways easilly carry a mix if you dont wanna beatmatch everything - scratching start simple rythems and build up your vocab of scratches watch the film documentary SCRATCH alot can be learnt from that. peace to ya thcstar

Dont get anything other than technics 1210s. They are built like tanks. If you get anything else (like i did first off) you will regret it

If you get anything else (like i did first off) you will regret it technics sl 1200's or 1210's yes very good built like tanks ,but top of the range stantons ,vestax or numarks are just as good with a few more controls aswell. for mixers I say get vestax or technics possibly stanton and for hip hop mixing get the shure needles m44-7

i own two vestax pdx 2000's wouldnt swap them for the world, mixer wise they are solid as fuck, great eq's build quality is up there with stanton/rane etc imo.
i stand firmly in the vestax camp for turntables.

@ thcstart i say whattt shittinheck i reckons gordys getttin a cut of them 1500 sheets. i think pay round about £500 ish for a pair of nummark ttx1's good direct drive turntables and like £180 for a vestax pmc ? 2 channel battle scrath mixer (the thin gold one) and £20 headfones and about £70 for a pair of shure m44-7 carts /stylus >slipmats and possibly the carts/stylus and headfones will be thrown in for free with the deal if you get it all at once looking at spendin about £750 for a good sturdy set up- i recomend hard to find records the shop easy to find online htfr.co.uk or something like that or chat to ESP in Newbury (they are abit shifty at times but will match internet prices if you ask them to) . if you are seriously thinking about shelling out lots of £ on a set up id be happy to help you choose the right set up and deal with esp as ive bought lots from them over the years so they treat me good these days. ive been through many mixers and had the set of technics 1200's allready and sold them on to get a new set up.
peace
