wheres the real vapour and what have you done with him?!

sure the mixing is impeccable but its a shame to see that about 50% of the tunes there were in his global sets from last year and even the year before that, will give it a listen though...

there is a reason behind people playing loads of old tunes


its cos there is such little in the way of good music being made at the min

was talking to gordy about this the other day when i sorted through my records for the tap last week there was so many timeless tunes from over the years tht still sound amazing these days unfortunatly there is not alot about from the past year or 2 that is actually any good

some of the bad company bits from a few years ago sound amazing you try and find tunes that sound as good as alot of the 2004 - 2006 era that have came out since 2006 and ull be hard pushed

im not saying there is no good music about any more it just seems that there is a hell of a lot less of it about at the min

cuba last sat was a prime example i played mostly 2004 - 2006 records there and it was jumping

the friday before i played a upfront set and it was empty on the dancefloor the whole time (to be fair it was not as busy but if id played them tunes last sat instead of the older stuff there is no way people would have been jumping around like they were)

to me at the min dnb seems to be stuck in the same kind of rut we had at the tail end of the 90's where everyone is copying everyone else but no new styles are being explored (at the end of the 90's it was all hardware style darkness but with no new ideas)if i was in a position where i had to buy all of my music id be fucked cos there is so little in the way of stuff i like actually being released

allthough i play cd's i still like to buy vinyl but ive spent hardly anything in the past couple of years cos there is just nothing out that i want to buy back in the day i could quite easly do 150 - 200 every time i went to the record shop

i personnaly think 2008 has been a good year, but then i like the harder styles,

i also think that there is a split in dnb which no one wants too talk about either, almost if i can draw a comparison to hip hop, with the more commercially viable tracks and the underground hardcore of artists.

dj's like loxy are killing it for me at mo, real rufige sounds..

yeh there is some shit being released we all know that, it aint no different to the 90's or the 00's, shit i remember when i first started dj'ing i could go months without buying a decent tune, it didnt really change until 99/2000

...I dunno, I quite like the odd old tune whacked in a mix - A good old mix of old and new rather than everyone caining the same new dubs.
