After five years of promoting Jungle raves from the age of 17, Ollywood burst onto the Breakbeat scene in 2001 as Deekline's business partner and manager of the influential Rat Records and Hardcore Beats labels. The pair set about establishing a platform for a new generation of talented Breakbeat Producers as well as promoting the popular Breakbeat Connection events. In 2004 the duo went their separate ways, and Ollywood continued to forge ahead with his personal love, Hardcore Beats, pioneering the much loved "Tear-out" Breakbeat sound.
"I want to go mental and jump and around like a lunatic, but I want to feel cool while I'm doing it. Breakbeat lets me do that. It's simply the best form of dance music on the planet right now. The style I'm championing is a mish-mash of different influences: hip-hop, jungle, garage, ragga, ska, house, R&B, drum & bass, fused together with cutting edge production skills. If it's fresh, cheeky and has bucket-loads of personality, it'll be in the box. The scene is growing so rapidly at the moment because the music has no pretensions, it is just pure, unadulterated, well produced fun."
