Went up to Edinburgh to visit a v.old friend this weekend and had my first experience of the Edinburgh Fringe Fest.
Holy fuck that was good - in the space of one day & night we managed to:
- See a wicked jazz/breaks/funk band playing on handmade instruments
- Catch a show consisting of asian dudes headbutting a wall and speaking in spanish
- See an insane Irish comedy/hip-hop improv act
- Watch a dude juggle swords in his pants whilst balancing on top of a ladder in the middle of the street
- Bounce around to a Theo Paphitis lookalike playing swing'n'bass in a circuis big-top
- Mong on the floor of a random art gallery at 4am listening to ambient electronica and minimal techno while dudes with beards did spoken word poetry over the top
- Eat my first Haggis
Defo gonna be taking a group of mates up there next year, well worth it if anyone's ever considered going...
Quite tired after the 7hr train journey back to Reading and having to fight the Festival mongs back home once I got there though...
