Established in the UK in 2000, The 36th Chamber empire has grown not only into a successful promotions company but also a world famous record label. It all began with a couple of ridiculous parties back in the day at the tiny Genesis Nightclub in Newbury's Marketplace. This developed into a weekly residency that exists to this very day, every Sunday, in the Tap 'n' Spile. The years since have seen steady growth, with the aquiring of a more powerful soundsystem and the organizing of more bass heavy events at larger clubs while continuing the weekly residency at all costs. Numerous A-List DJ's (Grooverider, Hype, Blackmarket etc..) as well as worthy up & coming stars (Hazard, Benny Page, Subfocus, Heist, DJ Fu etc...) have been invited to grace the 36th Chamber 1200's alongside residents: Shaolin Drunken Monk, DJ Vapour, 2 Face, Jambo, Kendo, Magma, Dense and MC's Hasty, Smoothie, Darkie & MC Rush. The 36th Chamber Recordings has been gaining critical acclaim from within the scene since it's inception in 2007. Born with the sole intention of putting out quality drum and bass from committed artists, the label has grown rapidly from strength to strength to the point of already being nominated for Best Record Label at the National Drum & Bass Awards 2008. DJ Vapour takes care of the A&R duties and has lined up an array of talent for future releases in the likes of Jem One and Switchcraft. |
