Jamal first fell in love with music after hearing his older cousin’s tapes of NWA, Dr Dre and Ice Cube in 1992…visiting family in London during the summer 1994 Jamal was first exposed to Jungle/Dnb stumbling across pirate radio stations and hearing the sounds of ‘Original Nuttah’ and ‘Gangsta Kid’ coming out of every other car stereo in Wembley.

For the next 7 years Jamal obsessed over hip-hop albums absorbing the sounds of Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep and DJ Premier (amongst many others).

It was around 1999-2001 that Jamal rediscovered DnB, after borrowing ‘Enforcers’ , ‘Platinum Breakz’ & ‘Prototype Years’ from a friend Jamal’s hunger for DnB grew. After hearing the tearing sounds of Ed Rush & Optical’s ‘Sicknote’ and the ‘Something Out There : Remixes’ Jamal’s passion for the music was ever increasing…

Shortly after moving to London in September 2001 Jamal landed a small promotional job with Dillinja & Lemon D’s Valve Recordings. This small job led to bigger jobs within the camp over the next 4 years…

After spending many long nights watching Lemon D make tunes in the lab Jamal decided to try his hand at producing…The result was an unofficial make-shift remix of an old Test Blue track called ‘Rockers II Rockers’ by Lemon D. The track was well received by DJ Bailey @ 1xtra and the track later was released as ‘Strictly Rockers/Real Djs’ on Crisis…

Soon to follow was a track entitled ‘Screwheadz’ which was released by Metalheadz as part of the Rufige001 EP…since its release Jamal has played in Amsterdam, Ireland, Switzerland, Cardiff, London and is soon to be beginning a US tour…
