Birmingham based Lee Barker AKA Switchcraft has been involed with music from an early age, learning various instruments such as guitar and drums. After leaving school Lee wanted to further his knowledge and ability in music performance and production, so he signed up for a music course at his local college. At around this time he started going to nights like Flashback at the legendry Q club where he instantly became obsessed with drum and bass, but it wasnt until he started going to House of God where he heard the brutaly dark sounds of PCM, and other DJ's that were playing the darker side of drum and bass that inspired him to get some turntables. After this there was no turning back, he deciced to focus all of his musical efforts into DJing, and around 2002 started making his own beats. Eventually he felt his tunes were good enough to send out, and soon got them played by local DJs and internet radio stations which got him some positive feedback and interest from a few labels. In 2007 Switchcraft was picked up by the 36th Chamber family and is set to have his debut releases in 2008 while currently working on other projects with various artists, so keep your ears open because Switchcraft will be one to look out for in the future. |
